String Wax

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for bow string wax?

The Scorpion Venom in a tin is good too. I find it to be more messy. It's the consistency of Vaseline.

In a pinch I've used Kennetrek boot wax

I've tried a bunch of different ones and keep going back to the Bohning Seal-Tite. The stuff in the green tube.

I just use the Bohning in the red tube. Ive had the same tube forever. Seems to work fine.

After I wax up the string real good, I take a piece of fishing line and wrap it once around and slide down string to remove excess. I am ocd

Bohning and Fred Bear open tubes (with his picture from the '70s) of commercial string wax all worked fine over the years, and I couldn't tell the difference. Red wax that is over the mini cheese pods, "toilet bowl sealer"...yellow bees wax and Sno Seal boot wax have also worked just as well and often get used on back pack trips. I will say the one tube of expensive Winner's Choice lube in a sealed tube didn't seem to do a very good job or hold up very long.
