I am going to set up some new Black eagle carnivores for first time elk hunt. I want to shoot Woodman elite in 125 or 150 grain. Planning on 300 spine 8.5 gpi 28" arrow. Fletching total 18 g, nock 8 g, brass insert 42 g. With 125 head will put total arrow at 431g and foc 14.9. 150 grain head will put me at 456g and 16.7 foc. I could also run the 125 and add 30 grain screw in weight and be at 461g and 16.9 foc. I was leaning towards 150 grain head. What do you guys think would be best. I shoot elite gt500 70# 29" DL. Has been a while since I have bow hunted and always ran 100 grain razor caps for whitetail and lighter arrows, Elk setup is new to me.

Thanks

Justin

As long as you aren't underspined...or close to underspined.......I like the 150 gr BH's. Its 50% more steel on the working end of your arrow.

Hold a 150gr VPA 2 or 3 blade in your hand next to the avg 100gr head...its an eye opener and it won't take much convincing.....the 150s seem like twice the head.

I ended up ordering 30 grain screw in weights that way can run 125 or 150 BH and be about the same.
