Exo bag question

Does the lid on the 2017 Exo 5500 attach to the bag or the frame? Want to build an "exofaru" and just figuring all the straps I'll need.

The two straps closest to the frame loop through ladder locks attached to the frame. The other two straps loop through themselves around a d-ring attached to the bag.
