I purchased a DT1 and bikini frame through the Classifieds on this forum, and I am having some issues feeling confident I am attaching the bag to the frame correctly. I feel like I am ending up with a bunch of extra straps and buckles that are not connected to anything. Is there anyone else running the set up they could send me a few pictures of how their pack is attached and the different connection points so I can try to mimic it?

I would really like to put some weight into it and start walking around. I've checked on YouTube, and found a video or two but it hasn't been enough. The fact that I can't figure this out is causing me some real anxiety, and any help would be appreciated.

The next step is putting it back up for sale and moving to a different pack, which I really don't want to do

I attached the 3 bar sliders on the bottom of the bag to the plastic common loops on the bottom of the frame. Then attached the webbing coming off the belt onto the bag buckle, finally used a slotted female buckle on the frame and a male buckle on the webbing on the bag.

Mine is a DT2 on a tactical frame but should be the same concept for the bikini.

Great pics above and should be identical for the DT1. Only “extra” straps I can think of would be the two lid straps attached to the back of the bag, near the top, and sewn in at an angle. They’re used for the upper attachment points of a lid if you haven’t switched over to buckles or k-clips.

thank you guys for the responses, and thanks for the pictures colersu22! I may not be as far off as i originally thought.

My two areas of concern are where the frame connects/slides through they hypalon sleeve on the bag. On the videos i saw, i thought there was another buckle/strap, but the only one i have is actually attached the shoulder strap. https://imgur.com/a/ZQt6D https://imgur.com/a/biMUl
The next concern i have is that i am actually only\ have one connection point on each side of the bag that connects directly to the frame.

The other two connection points i have (2 on each side) are to the belt.

The rest of the buckles i have are extra. I am thinking they may be for the guide lid and/or use if not using the pack and i should just tuck them, but i want to make sure before putting stress on the pack unnecessarily. Any and all help is appreciated Thanks in advance for a truly FNG thread and question!

Your pics are not working for me Stilpr, I will take some pics of the top of the frame tonight when I get home for you but it sounds like yours is attached the same way as mine.

Here is a couple pics of the top of the pack attached to my tactical frame for you.

This is the lid strap and comes off the bag, I have a native attached right now so I am not using these.

Here is the top strap that runs through the webbing for the side pockets( this point is not attached to the frame just the bag)

Here is the back of the pack, I believe the straps you are talking about is the load lifters.

I only had one set of holes cut in the sleeve so I gut the other 2 sets so I can use the 22" and 24" attachments since my frame is 26" and I don't always need the lift it provides.

Hope this helps you out. I really like the layout of the Deluxe Timberline packs and have never worried about it with weight how it is attached to my frame.

No problem. I dont have a bikini frame but I do have that bag. Starting from the bottom to the top on your imgur page:

- The strap you are holding in your hand on the pic is for the bottom of the sleeve pocket and on the duplex attaches to a female buckle attached to the frame.
- I originally guessed that you would have missed the belt straps but they look fine to me - you want to make sure these are loose as you don the pack and then just snug after you have everything else set.
- the empty buckle in the pic above that is the one that the strap that you are holding in your hand buckles into.
- The next buckle on the lid is for the long vertical strap running down the front of the bag (or up the bag) in the center.
- Your load lifters look okay but the with the pic provided its hard to say for certain.
