The new Kifaru frame caught my attention. I have a Tahr, cargo panel, and modified Kuiu Ultra 3000 ready to mount.

Looks like a great frame for my style of daypacking and needing a frame for hauling meat when successful.

I've used the hell out of it all year around, not kindly, for three years. No complaints, just wear and tear. The belt is separating at the seams, shoulder straps are ripping out of the belt, I broke one sternum strap attachment and jerry rigged it, lumbar pad is going a bit flat. I still use it and it functions fine, but it was at a point where it needed some repairs so I bought a new frame. It's all due to the way I use it and treat my gear. I toss it off ledges and use it as a seat, pack loads of elk sheds, etc. I definitely feel like it held up much better than some of the more lightly constructed packs. That's why I didn't think about it for long when it came time to buy a new one. As long as the new one arrives for my bear hunt the first week of May I'll be good to go.

Frame arrived yesterday. Noticeably lighter than the tactical frame it replaced. Even unloaded it was noticeably more comfortable.

I didn’t get time to put any load in it. I only test fit my bags. This paired with my modified Kuiu ultra 3000 will be extremely light.

I can add the Tahr and some pockets to increase capacity.

I went with the 26” Lite in coyote brown.

Here’s a few pics with my modified KUIU ultra 3000 on the frame. The bag basically has some 1” loops attached to line up with a Kifaru frame. The bag is light and I like multiple zippered compartments. Most of my use is day hikes for hunting out from a cabin.

I attached to the top of the frame with grimlocks and all around with the quick attach tri-glides.

Now the challenge is which setup for hunting. The Ultra teamed up with a cargo panel for packing meat or the Tahr and some pockets.
