k2 exo 5500 with platypus big zip 3l

anyone used the platypus 3l big zip with there 2017+ exo 5500? experience? did it fit/work well? durability?

I don’t have the zip but a 3L platypus hoser works on my 3500 just fine.

does it hook up well to the straps with just that narrow opening at the top? does it even need to be hooked up or does it stay up fine on its own?

That's exactly what i use in my 5500. Fits fine, i wrap the velcro around the plastic hoop at the top to hold it up.

I don’t think it would go anywhere especially if there is other stuff in the bag or the bag compressed. I always hook it on because there is Velcro to do so.
