Question for those of you that have a Grab-It II.
Can you use it as a shelf and carry an elk quarter on the outside of the pack?
My thought is, if I can't get a 2nd elk quarter in the main compartment, maybe I can use the Grab-It II as a shelf for the 2nd elk quarter on the outside of the pack.

Thanks

Not trying to sound like an internet troll here, but carrying an elk quarter that far away from your back/frame is my nightmare. Bad idea. Just my 2 cents, but give it a try if you're so inclined. cheers.

Good feedback.
I know the weight would be far back (my concern as well). I would only use it if hiking out downhill. Ideally, I would like to pack 2 quarters on the first trip so the 2nd and final trip would be easy in comparison. I'm thinking of ways to avoid 3 trips in scenarios when I'm far from the truck. I would be packing out with my hunting partner. We take everything off the animal.

The more I think about it the more it seems like a bad idea.
I'm not going to throw the idea out just yet.

If that bag is mostly empty a cargo panel would give you more flexibility to carry two quarters outside the bag while still keeping both closer to your body, assuming said body is up to carrying them both at once.
