Cross post from another forum but too good not to share. This is exactly where I run my bait stand. One of the bears took out 44 calves in 25 days. Love, hate and respect them all at the same time, they are impressive animals.

I'm not on AOD much anymore, haven't liked the flavor of the place very much for a few years now.

That said, thanks a ton for posting it and I'm really glad I happened across it. Stinking cool to see the data and to know that I may have smoked a couple of the bears that were studied.

Someone over there found the published study and posted the above link. We can tell the future of Nelchina due to the last sentence in the Management Implications section. Fewer tags for caribou, and maybe they will switch over to a registration moose hunt with any bull and an annual limit.
