2017 Idaho Fall Spot and Stalk Bear Down

Bear Selfie Saturday? I surely earned this one. Found him heading down for a drink 4 miles in, in some nasty country. 215 yard shot with the 375 H&H and 260 Nosler Partition at 2800 FPS put him down for the count. However, like all bears, he found a crap hole to die in...my pack was as heavy as its ever been on the way out from the bottom in 99 degree heat...I cussed, swore, and thought about giving up bear hunting for a few hours This was the most grueling pack out I may have ever had in my hunting career..... and as I finally reached the truck and started to reflect - realized I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

Really nice and sure does sound like you earned the trophy. The Mountains look beautiful and the bear is awesome. I'm heading to the Idaho Panhandle for a DIY bear hunt next week. I'm spending 3 weeks. will do spot and stalk. temperatures are looking much cooler so I shouldn't have any 99-degree days. that's tough!!! Congratulations on your Bear!
