10 or 12 Idaho Spring

Last year I traveled to Unit 1 and had a good time. I did see bear but could never get in range. Being that Im coming from SLC going to Unit 1 was a travel. Thinking of doing either unit 10 or 12 in Idaho this Spring. Was wondering if anybody has been in these areas and could give me some leads. Also wondering about the snow levels this year. SLC has been pretty warm this winter.

Lots of years ago, but in 10 I guided between Wietas Creek and Kelly Creek on the North Fork of the Clearwater. It was the late 90's and it was great bear country. There's a reason it was one of the first discounted and 2 bear areas. Not sure about access for spring bears I was only there in the fall. Our base camp was 7.5 miles in. You'd have to check with a local to see what transportation is like during the season.
