I just recently got hired on in a new position in Laramie, WY. I've always wanted to do some bear huntin, but the main areas back home (the Bighorns) always close down fairly fast. So now I would like to try the Snowy Range this spring/summer. I have spent quite a bit of time up there looking for sheds and deer and elk hunting in the fall the last 4 years I've been going to school. Just looking for some ideas on how to go about scouting the area, as I have never actually seen a bear up there. Due to school and the longer hours I will be working I do not have the time to spend putting up baits. What are some tips you guys have on spot and stalk or even calling for bears?
