Gila bears

Pops hit the lottery on elk for rifle, and I was going to go along to help. I've seen people say there are enough around it would be worth having a bear tag in the pocket. Have any of y'all had luck with them?

I drew 16b archery elk and I'm planning on having a bear tag in my pocket. I just moved to new mexico so it's my first hunt here. I plan on scouting all summer so I'll keep you posted. Do you live in new mexico?

Bear tags are pretty cheap... there's a much greater chance of regretting not having one that ever regretting buying one!
