Calf size. How do they size gaters? I want to order a pair but have no clue how they size them. Do they go by shoe size, how thick your calves???
Under 16½" = large
Over 16½" = X large

This pair has over 300 conservative number miles on them you can see the strap is simply wearing out and I have patched two holes. This is my second worn out set. I bought another set that is how good they are
If you want perfect quietness and waterproofness, then in those situations, just pull your pant leg down over the top of your gaiters and seal your gaiters above your socks to bare skin.
5Miles -- I don't know if you have no problems hiking in wet boots?...or maybe you live in a climate where hunting/walking through wet brush isn't a potential daily occurence.
Try first lite. See my comments on page 4The issue I have with Kuiu gaitets is the lack of breathability. My pant cuffs and boots get really damp after a long day of hiking.
This is damn good advice for dryness. I have over the calf socks, so with gaiters ending just below knee, water from taller brush soaks through pants into top of socks, above gaiters, and then creeps down inside my boots. Will definitely be trying gaiters under pants and socks rolled down under gaiter tops next time . . .This below is based upon gaiters purchased from each of these companies between 3 and 15 years ago (my son is still wearing OR Crocs I bought around 15 years ago). OR Flextex & Verglas gaiters are my most recent gaiter purchases within the past few years.
OR - Far more durable than Kuiu (both Crocs and Expeditions are much more durable in my experience, and I think even the thin & super light OR Verglas gaiters may be as or nearly as durable as Kuiu gaiters); also OR Crocs and Verglas are more breathable than Kuius it seems for some reason which I can not explain.
Kuius - Quieter and camo. Stretch, but this is not needed in a gaiter.
Kennetrek - quiet and durable; water resistant, definitely not waterproof.
