Which should I take for 3rd rifle season in Colorado? The cloudburst jacket and a puffy or the kuiu guide with heavyweight fleece? I would only like to wear one jacket so which one would be better?

I wouldn't leave without a puffy either. Brand preference is up to you but I'd bring both coats, puffy + the outer shell. If you get too hot you can always shed the puffy and have the other to protect against the elements such as wind or rain

The way Colorado weather is going I say cloudburst + puffy. I can’t remember the last time we had this much rain, snow this time of year. Nothing epic it’s just a more normal fall so far. That being said you’ll end up with sun and 70 during 3rd

The cloudburst is a rainshell. The guide jacket is a soft shell.

I always prefer a puffy and rain shell to a softshell

I carry the cloudburst and either the Kelvin Light puffy or the Kifaru Lost Park puffy for late season Colorado. 3rd season you can get snow, or rain, so I would never leave the truck without a rain shell and the puffy for sitting.
