Re-hydrating Venison

I recently dehydrated some ground venison burger. When I re-hydrated it, it ended up a little chewy. Not sure if I didn't let it soak up long enough, or if this is just a common thing. I let it sit for about 10 minutes.

Anyone else have this issue? Or a solution?

Thanks

I give stuff 20min but a couple things you can do to help. If drying the meat on its own if you mix some bread crumbs into it before browning and then drying it leaves moisture paths that adsorb more easily. The route I take is I add the meat the pasta sauce, salsa, etc. I might be drying with the meal and dehydrate it all together and it seems to rehydrate decently. The sauce seeped into the meat might create a similar effect as the bread crumbs when dried.
