I have made a few of these. They work very well and are extremely light. They do not have any padding, which isn't needed for a lightweight rifle. They weigh 1.4 ounces.
I use a 48" nylon strap, two slip lock buckles, and 2 polymer sling swivels. I like the Uncle Mike sling swivels shown and can only get those on eBay for about $9.00. I have also used the Brute brand but I like these better. I think I have less than $10.00 in these and prefer them to anything I have seen on the market.
