I need to add compression straps to a few of my gear bags. Does anyone know where to get the materials? Are there recommended sewing tips so they will not pull out when the pressure is applied? Most of my sacks are nylon, I have one that is canvas that I need to compress to haul.

Order online if you want bulk. Otherwise go to REI or another large outdoor related store locally. Browse through the buckle options and buy some webbing by the foot.

Stitch it in one line, up...down...up, on top of one another. Move over 1\2"-1" and repeat. Stitch by hand or machine. 1" webbing should have 10-14 stitches per pass, extrapolate for a different size.

Any polyester thread will do fine. Like a standard Coats and Clark brand from the fabric store or your local Walmart.

It is simpler than it sounds.

Hudson Supplies has lots of buckles. You can get ITW, which are Kifaru compatible. Shipping starts at $12 or so, plan accordingly.

Pointdexter114 is an eBay user who has good mil spec webbing pricing.

Amazon has G hooks. Kifaru has k clips you can order direct too.
