Humans never cease to amaze me. I dont know about the stability, but Ill take your word on it. I havent been in your boat. Any type of video would be great. Even if it from a cell phone. I know its been said already, but safety first! From someone that has never been in this style of layout boat, from the look of it this thing makes my lower orifice clench. Atleast bass live in shallow ponds too. Its definitely interesting.

Just search beavertail final attack on youtube. There are plenty of vids where people have even over powered this boat. It runs great. What makes this one unique is the console conversion and powered by water jet. We're not talking seadoo psycho, this is more like alternative simplicity. I built a water jet because I already had an unused water pump laying around. I was fortunate enough to pull off acquiring the boat. Buying an outboard is not a financial option for me. I put it on the car because I cannot buy a trailer yet. However, I designed it this way because safety was exactly on my mind. The console keeps me in the center of the boat and I balance the gear and my one little passenger. This thing is designed to carry a hunter, his gun, his decoys, and a ton of dead ducks on the bow plus all of the required safety equipment as well. Rated 420lbs. I weigh 185, Charlotte weighs 38, and my gear and motor are less than 50lbs, and my mods are less than 20lbs. At 293lbs total, there are no worries. I also intend to mold in +75-105 lbs buoyancy of pontoons under the hull to reduce drag, which will safely make the boat suitable for 2 so that I have no concerns as Charlotte grows. When she gets older, I look forward to towing her in an inflatable. No, it is no ski boat but she will love it all the same.

Putting the lettering on was a bear. I couldnt reposition as the letters grabbed too tight to reposition. The other side is all kindsa crooked, lol.

Productive day. I redesigned the seating, which increased storage and removed some weight. I completed the motor mount, and I found a pair of killer mirrors at a second hand store so I can keep an eye on the munchkin while driving!

Now I must track down a metric rigid shaft coupler so I can hook up the pump.

Found the shaft coupler.... It's gonna be 2 weeks to a month before I get it! I think I will lose my mind in anticipation...

The only thing I didn't like about the boat was the sag of the hull. I have solved this problem. This also has the benefit of adding meat to attach rod storage and such without making unnecessary holes in the hull.

20' of 2" pvc, 6 1/2" x 12" threaded rods, 12 internal star washers, 12 nuts and 6 pieces of 1/2" pipe insulation cut to 8" and voila! Much safer at speed and in chop.

SD, You wear the Redneck engineered emblem with pride out pimping that monstrosity. Whats next, a continuous loop of Prince tunes playing on matching floor monitors? <grin>

All of this work....we better be seeing some big azz fish caught or shot from that thing...and soon.....other wise I say throw another hundred pounds of accessories on that gaudy thing so it ends up where it belongs.....

There will be without a doubt. I have had a setback. Due to apparent surface rust on the impellor, the pump experienced cavitation. The mwchanical seal was destroyed and parts are no longer available. Therefore, I am either going to mount a propellor assembly to the existing motor or acquire a small outboard.

Sadly, It will not become a water jet after all, but a functional bass boat.

Here is the assembled motor mount which allows for steering and trim. If you click on the earlier gallery and scroll to the bottom, you can see a vid of how it works.

I will soon cut the extra threaded rod.

The shaft is supported by 2 5/8 radial bearings mounted in a 1 1/4 x 6" steel pipe nipple and secured by couplers. I will install a plug on the bottom once I cut the rod and coat everything with a healthy coat of grease.

And in the gallery is a vid of the functioning motor. I am closing on a house, so once I move... I will hit the water!
