Silpoly weave direction on tipi

Taking the plunge and am planing a tipi with a circular footprint. When cutting panels, may I cut a single diagonal line across say, a 10' sheet of silpoly, getting 2 usable panels? The weave when the tent is up would be diagonal in this instance. Or, is it required to cut that 10' sheet into one panel, wasting lots of material but having the weave perpendicular to the earth and center pole? Is there a stretch disadvantage to having the weave not perpendicular?

I cut mine to utilize the most fabric and never worried which way the panel ran. No problems but I've only built one

It's OK to cut diagonally. However, try to make your cuts so that on each seam the two pieces have the same angle relative to the weave. If you don't do this, the two pieces will stretch differently and make it difficult to make a neat seam.
