DIY tipi

I am really wanting to build my own tipi for backcountry hunting. just curious on how many yard I would need for a 12 foot diameter tipi

It will depend on what fabric you go with, reg or extra wide.
Do you have an idea of how many panels you want?
I don't do sketch up but lots of guys use it to determine their needs.

I just built a tipi with lower wall like a yurt. I made it 12 sides for better wind flow, more reinforced seams [but more sewing!] ....so that I could manage the 58" fabric better;

So essentially 13' dia, 12'7" from wall to wall, 8' 6" tall, 21 yds of 1.6oz hyper D

I designed tipi/ pattern on sketchup per fabric width 58" [oops, the site won't upload the Sketchup files- I will convert to a JPEG later]

Heres the first test pitch...still needs vents, stove jack, extra guyouts...i'm not quite finished with it yet.





I will do a thread on it this fall after hunt season....and if it doesn't fail me
