What's the preferred thread you all use for gear building?

I have used the Gutermann MARA 50 and 70 threads from ripstop by the roll on everything from silnylon to 500d cordura with good results. I'm not sure what others are using.

Mara 70 for me too

I go to Thread Exchange and buy a bonded nylon in whatever size I need.

Thinner or thicker depending on the material used which depends on what the gear being made is. "Gear building" is not all the same. What type of gear are you asking about?
