I'll be building my first tent this summer. Originally, I was thinking about a Sawtooth style build, but now I'm second-guessing that decision. I'm thinking a 4-sided tipi might be the most 'efficient' shape. Plan on having a stove and 2-3 guys with gear. Thoughts?

Build a 4 sided tipi with the extra wide fabric from ripstop.
Zipper in corner and a stove jack.
Take good pics and notes and let me, i mean us how it goes.

That's the direction I'm headed. That will put a seam up the middle of each side, correct? Also, DIY nest recommended?

4 sided will def be a simpler build. I built an 8 sided tipi that is 15 feet diameter, flat to flat, and 7.5 feet tall. It was a substantial undertaking to build but it is a palace for 3 guys and a stove. Going to have 4 guys in it this year. I use a pole from REI and i think everything is 7 lbs total, minus the stove of course.
