Dudes, lm still green to sewing and need some help here. Im adding a zipper to my bino pouch. So cutting a slit into a panel of fabric enclosed on all sides.

So l will slit and fold back the fabric and hem on the inside and sew the zipper on the backside. There is room to do this but l will not have much seam allowance.

My question is on an existing oddball panel how would you press the seam before you hem? On a normal garmet you just fold over, press, pin, and sew. It will be vety difficult to do a decent job with the small seam allowance if l cant press or somehow otherwise establish a nice fold line before l hem the 500d.

I hope this makes sense. Any help would ne appreciated!

I'm a huge fan of using the paper binder clips. I have also come to find spray adhesive very useful in lay ups. Just a light spray and you get instant adhesion. That plus the binder clips has the same effect as ironing a hem, but better.

Thanks a bunch! Have any of you used that double sided seam tape?
