So, I am planning for my first Elk hunt for 2019 and I am looking to get a pair of boots to have good and broken in by then. I am primarily looking at 10" Crispi, Kenetrek and Lowa. Can anyone fill me in on:

1. Which fit best on a wide/flat'ish foot? (not retailers near me carry these boots)
2. Would I be fine with uninsulated boots (Colorado)?

Thanks

I have been running lowa for 3 years now and they needed minimal breakin period. Kenetrek were recently on sale st stp and had a 10" which i would have considered if i didn't have the lowas.

My buddy has wide feet. He found the Meindl boots fit best.

I have a low volume foot, Crispis fit me like they were made for me and me alone. I have a pair of light Lowa boots also. Comfortable but falling apart.

Meindl and some Zamberlan models, namely the Vioz, fit wide flat feet well. Crispi has models that fit every type of foot well, depending on model. Don't over think it too much, figuring out how to hunt elk is way more important. Get a good, stable, waterproof boot that is comfortable for you. Then learn to find and hunt elk and forget about boots.
