Im headed out to Colorado GMU 65 to hunt muzzleloader elk with some buddies. I have hunted the area before with success, so I know what to expect for the most part. I was curious though if anyone could give me any insight on how bad the drought is in the area? Being from the east coast I can’t exactly go out for the weekend just to scout. Will the elk be pushed out of the high elevations due to the lack of water? Any help and or tips would greatly be appreciated. Feel free to shoot me a PM. Thanks!

It has been very very dry. I haven't been very high up in the mountains in 65 yet this year, but I live on 550 and have been up on the plateau and it's been dry and hot everywhere. That said, there has been 4 cows and 4 calves right across the hwy every day for a month or so.
