Score, hmmm, tail end of the hunt, + cracked ribs, the question is would you have dropped your standards a bit, or even more doggedly holding out for a really big or old bull....

I was hunting the same unit, in the same area. Last I saw Les was at the trailhead. He had not killed an Elk and said he was going to start the drive home. Season had 2 full days left.My buddy and I were staying at base camp and then packing up the next morning to head home. Long story on my side and maybe I will do a write up soon now that I just got some closure.

That was what I knew. My gut told me a guy Like Les that waited 8 years to hunt the Gila isn't driving 30 hours home with 2 days left.

I guessed yes.
