My first choice was first rifle in unit 71 and i selected if not successful to draw OTC 2nd rifle.
When i check the back door i have a 500 number for elk.

Does that mean i was successful with my first choice of first rifle?

You can't tell which choice you drew until they send out notification

If my memory serves correctly, I think an 055 or 054 code means you drew an OTC tag.
So, that would mean you drew your first choice.

But Ive been wrong before...

I hope you got your 1st choice tag

I just confirmed that an 055 code is a NON RES OTC tag

Looks like you drew your 1st choice

Thanks that would be great to get first rifle. The number I see is 581.

I went to the site- checked my application- no results? just shows I applied for 75 first rifle . Looked at my points- no info available- how are you guys getting results?

Once you get to the page that lists all the species that you can apply for, click the blue link that says something like habitat stamps and other licenses and it will show a box with what you have applied for, if it's elk you should both 480series and 580series number if you drew, if only a 480then you didn't draw.
