My question is, I am using my PP's to try to draw a 3rd season rifle elk tag in GMU 66. I know its a limited unit and I'm hoping it finally snows to get everything moving. I'm assuming from all my reads the deer move first if the weather cooperates. Being an eastern type hunter, I've learned to work off of other hunters. If the weather remains dry will the deer hunters and deer, be in the same areas as the elk and other elk hunters? I know its a big nasty unit and a premium deer unit too. I'm going to be in the Powderhorn Wilderness area. I'm honored to be a part of a great site and the information I've seen most of you offer is really good.

The short answer is no. Deer hunters will not factor into your strategy.

As always, pray for snow.
