I am looking at bowhunting the pioneer zone mainly 36a this coming September looking for any info I can get. The plan is to have a base camp but to backcountry it mainly. Definitely willing to do the work just curious as to hunting pressure terrain elk population should I be focusing on a certain elevation is there a outfitter in this area that would pack meat out if I go that route I appreciate all the help.

Rough terrain, relatively high pressure. There is an outfitter, but they are typically busy with clients and don't really do "meat packing."

Elk will be where the habitat is best until pressure moves them elsewhere, they don't have altimeters. Other than that my experiences in that zone echo those of Rusty's.
