The search isn't working for me for some reason...

Just wanting to know if anyone is shooting the 130 grain Berger VLD hunting bullets - specifically in a 6.5 CM.

What are you guys seeing for penetration/toughness?

These a decent "all purpose" hunting load - ie deer, elk, black bear?

Will they punch through a shoulder on elk within, say 400 yards if need be?

I am shooting Barnes in my other rifles, and have some 129 lrx's as well that I will test.

Just wanting experience/opinions.

Only been using them for a year so far but they've worked great. Pretty devastating on all 4 animals I've taken with them. I will mention that I sort them for hunting purposes. I make sure that the tip is open and has a decent cavity on every one that I take hunting.

I shot an antelope in Wyoming this year with the 130 VLD Hunter. It blew clean through and exited with a 1" hole. Made blood soup out of the lungs.

I'll be using it on deer next year. For elk, I'll step up to the 7mm Rem Mag.

My go to bullet. Been using them for the last 5-6yrs out of a couple of 6.5creedmoors and a 6.5x47Lapua with MV 2750-2830fps. I always aim for the vitals and all animals taken (25 or so) have taken less than 10steps.
