Hey guys,

I bought a cheap but pretty cool truck gun the other day. Its based off of an old mauser action and this is what brings me to this question,

the barrel is blued, however, the action and rather large mauser bolt assembly are more less exposed/greyish kindof tarnished metal looking.

Is there some kind of spray or oil I can rub into the metal to prevent it from corroding too badly? I don't want to mess around with cerakote or any bake on paints more less just an oil or penetrant of some kind to keep the old girl goin,

thanks,

Mike.

I've used Tri-Flow for years and it's great as a rust prevention. In fact, that's all I clean the outside of all my guns and I've never had a problem with any of 'em.

I use a marine tuf-cloth on all of my metal gear and never have any rust issues.

I've used Hornady One Shot on a 1929 Browning Auto 5 that's got blueing that's about as thin as my hair.

Good stuff.
