WKR
Say a fella hunts critters from hogs all the way up to elk with a 30.06. Based out of Wi and MT. And he has a 7-08 woods, timber, deer gun. And for shits and giggles wants another rifle to be able to slide in where need be.
270 or 7RM? Both long action, both will have a 24in tube and recoil is fairly negligible between the two. And both, rather the one will be a Bergara B-14.
7RM will shoot flatter, hit harder, reach further (won't be shooting game past 400-ish), and have more bullet weight availability but will only hold 3. Where as the 270 is right behind it in all aspects. And would be more than capable in a deer stand or shooting elk in the sage brush. But for the latter maybe the 7Rm makes more sense as a more "western" purposed "alternative" "back up" to the .06.
I don't know... Pretty sure I'm writing this down just to put some ideas down on paper instead of going in circles in my head with no measurable results. Either way I know this is a stepped on topic but curious what some of you guys and gals thoughts are on this.
Thanks
