I didn't really care for them when I simply put them into my Danner's. I have a set that came with the L&S Mtn Hunter boots and am very happy with them.
They aren't like a standard insole because they are flat with wide wings. In a boot that fits your foot well the "wings" provide arch support and really lock your foot in place. I don't think they would work too well in a standard work boot design that's wider in shank area
I have 4 pairs in my various boots/shoes. I ran an ultra marathon with them in my Solomon speedcross this past June. 31 miles with 7800' of elevation GAIN. zero blisters or hot spots. I have them in my current hunting boots as well as the new L & S boots.
