I’ve been looking for a new hunting boot this year and I’ve had a hard time trying to decide how I want to do this. I live in Utah and hunt from August til January and would like something stiff for my next boot. I hunt a lot steep terrain in the High Uintas so I’m usually within 7,000 to 10,000 in elevation. Mainly backpacking hunts.

I’ve tried on two boots within the last week the Scarpa Rebel Pro GTX and the Scarpa Mont Blanc Pro GTX. I’ve liked those two quite a bit. I feel like they both just completely cradled my feet and we’re a good fit. That Rebel pro was light weight and solid but is it going to be warm enough for those late season trips? The Mont Blanc was awesome as well but is it over kill for those early season hunts?

Any experiences or advice would be awesome!

Thanks!
