Cabelas had this morning savage axis youth in 7-08 for 199 minus 100 rebate for $99. I picked one up a few weeks ago for $150. Put a $15 spring kit on it to lower trigger pull and it shoots great. Couldn’t pass this one at $99.

I looked it up and I’m the time it took me to figure out if it was worth the 130 mile drive to the nearest Cabela’s to pick it up they were gone. Dang it!!

I would keep watching the website or go into the store. I picked up a LWH on a similar clearance last month and the inventory on the website changed repeatedly over 3 or 4 days--from 3 different chamberings to 1, then back up to three. When it was only showing .243 available, I went into the store and the clerk was able to pull up inventory from around the country showing .308s and .270s available (including one in that location that didn't show up online).

I would keep checking like said above they must be getting rid of certain calibers or reducing inventory. I got a 6,5 creed for $150 after rebate and it was the only caliber that day at that price. ALso got a 223 youth Axis for the hunting club for around $180 and same deal only caliber that day on sale and then next day they are back to regular price.

I just checked now and nothing marked down.

I had one in a .22-250 a couple years ago and did a spring swap like the op said and the thing really was a hell of a shooter for the price. Not trying to highjack just throwing it out there

They have the axis 2 with adjustable trigger and cheap scope in wood for 299 minus 100 right now but only in 223. Still a nice gun for $200. Not a youth though the standard LOP.
