Last year I carried a Katydyn Hiker Pro rather than a Steripen because you just can't do water in bulk with the Steripen. Today I was in REI with my dividend burning a hole in my pocket and cam across their Quantum model. It will either do the standard amount of water, or has another option to do 4 liters with the bag that came with it. So I picked one up and it's lighter than the pump. Not sure if anyone else has one, but might be a good option. If I don't get beaver fever and die in the mountains I'll report back after elk season.
