Do you have to pay a subscription on the Delorme for the private land maps? You do on the Garmin explorer.

I ended up getting the plus model because the units are the same size and weight so I figured I might as well have the mapping as well. As a GPS, the battery life is insane even with tracking. We are talking multiple days and much much better than my normal garmin units.

^ that's a good tidbit of info; tracking on my iphone w/ gaia (except short sessions) is a no no on multi-day trips
