I have a pretty big partial roll of tyvek left over from a project. I would love to utilize it and make a tarp for my upcoming elk trip. I am just struggling on how to make guy outs and how to pitch it. I would like to use the tarp as extra rain protection for cooking and such during inclement weather. Any and all advise on how to make this happen would be great. Thanks!

Double roll the hem all around outside and add gutted p cord or grosgrain wherever you want tie outs

Tyvek (Dupont) makes a tape specifically for Tyvek. You can use it to create folded (and taped) seams and hems. You can use strips of Tyvek to make tie loops which are taped in place. Most hardware stores (or the web) sell hobbyist grommet kits, and you can use brass or nickel grommets if desired....I've done it with great success.
