Is there a lot of flexibility in the angle of the stove pipe on most wood stoves? I have seen some where the pipe is almost coming straight out the side of the tarp, while others are going straight up. Trying to figure out where to put the Stove Jack, as I don't yet have the stove.

Thanks

Kind of depends on what you are building? A Tipi, Bivy type ?

Most tipis lean to the vertical set up due to the orientation of the stove VS sleeping arrangements VS height of shelter. Other tents that are lower and longer would give way to a more angled pipe install. Mostly I assume so you have enough pipe to catch most of the embers before they exit. A short straight pipe might lend itself to burning holes in your tent or trees in your forest.

Try to keep it as vertical as possible. It will help in strong winds. We had one rotate in the winds just outside of our wall tent in montana last year at about 3 am and it smoked us out pretty good.
