Sat phones

I have to rely on phone service for work so obviously this conflicts hunting the backcountry as much as possible. So I am wanting to know what the most reliable/affordable service and device and if you can have your calls forwarded from your cell the sat phone?

Iridium based satellite phone network has the best coverage and is far better than Globalstar.

I believe you can forward cell phones to Sat phones, but in order to forward you will have to leave that Sat phone always on and you will burn batteries.

FYI-- Sat phones don't do too well in dark timber drainages and your calls may be brief due to loss of coverage intervals as satellites pass over.

Make sure your clients know you'll be in very spotty coverage at times.
