CO units 78 & 81

Has anyone ever hunted/hiked or spent any time in these units? I'm looking to hunt archery elk/deer next yr. We're not looking for trophies. Just our first blood out west! I have a few areas I'm looking in different units. I'd like to stick to a wilderness or at least somewhat remote. We're planning on backpacking. I'm just looking for any info or insight anyone can give us on the area itself. Any subject would be helpful. Water, terrain, burn areas, elk, deer, squatch, etc. Thanks!!

No I haven’t warrant. I decided on a whole other unit.

I've hunted both these units for the past 5 years. Last couple years for elk have been disappointing. Never got on a single elk the last two years, didn't even see an elk in 81, we covered a ton of ground. Its beautiful rough country but this year I'm headed else where. Its got its fair share of hunters but it's otc so not much different than other units. Best places I have found in past years is go as close to the divide as you can, in the roughest steepest stuff you can and pray to God you can get one out if you get lucky.
