Pocket Rocket 2?

I only plan to boil water for dehydrated meals so something like the PR2 should work well for me. Any other options I should consider? I have seen the Primus stove on Camofire but didn't know if it is comparable or not. Thoughts?

I've ran the original pocket rocket for quite a few years and haven't had any issues with it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

It should work well for you. You might need a windscreen on occasion.

Pocket Rocket is solid. Easy to use, simple and they really don't break that often. Most people have them for years upon years without having to ever do anything to them.

If you want something that would be a little faster for just boiling water I would look at the MSR WindBurner.

The Optimus Cruxs are a pretty solid option too. I have the Optimus Vega and really like it.

We use the PR for boiling for dehydrated food as well, works great.
Simple and effective.

I'll carry my pocket rocket if I'm going solo. All other trips I carry my jetboil and if its really cold, I'm carrying my Whisperlite.

I love my Primus Express as it regulates gas flow well. Used it as high as 10k'.
