Bad combination. We've been under wind advisories for over a week now every day. 20-30 sustained gusting up to 60. Been horrible. Fire started in the Black Hills Monday evening. Tree fell on a power pole. 30 acres, Monday night. Yesterday was up to 7000 acres. We had really bad wind starting yesterday evening and the fire is now at 35,000 acres!

Worst part is that it is pushing down out of the hills and heading for the prairie. If that thing gets on the grass lands it will burn up the entire state!

Bin Laden thumb drives revealed plans for building IIDs (improvised incendiary devices) and the wildfires we see always occur when conditions are perfect suggesting an organized event. Drop the IID and drive away, zero risk.

Good for elk hunting. Bad for black hills.

Originally from rapid and sad to see this. Hopefully they can contain this or snow comes.

Pretty ingenious how they got that tree to fall on a power line.

How much of the Black Hills NF has been effected by this fire? Was planning on hunting it this next year!

Have been watching that and the wind has been crazy. you know we are used to wind when it is supposed to blow 20 mph tomorrow and the weather guy calls it a slight breeze. The easy winter so far good for the animals but low moisture not good for the fire.

Just this fire so far this year. It is around Custer in the southern hills. So far, Custer State Park and Wind Cave National Park have been the bulk o the burn. Shouldn't have much of an effect on hunting.

The fires in Northern California earlier this year are believed to have been cause by the same combination of wind, trees and power lines - tragic.

It's Cali - anything goes, is possible, and is logically accepted as truth.
Just speak it and it is accepted.

"California Governor Jerry Brown blasted President Donald Trump for the massive fires smoldering across his state, criticizing the president for removing for the United States from a deal to fight climate change that would help tame conditions intensifying the blazes."

And of course Brown made those statements right before jetsetting to Paris releasing tons of CO2 along the way....

oh..that's clear. he didnt blame him for the fires, but for the policy that will affect more fires.

saying that his policy will create more fires is highly debatable...the Paris Climate accord which Brown promotes would have given billions of dollars of taxpayer money to China and others while not restricting any of their emissions...not sure how that will lessen the danger of wildfires.

not the time and place..

Unfortunately, it's always the time and place these days because too many people don't have a clue as to what's going on or how things work. They just believe whatever is said on TV or Twitter or the internet and accept it all as fact without doing their own research to make logical reasonable decisions. They need to be educated on this stuff. This kind of stuff affects every single aspect of every single person's life.
