I'm not trying to argue with you guys but Jason and Don Jr. do not set the outfitter prices for hunters wanting to go on sheep hunts, why is it their fault if they are able to afford it?
Non residents can't hunt these Sheep without a guide, guided sheep hunts are very expensive,if you're a resident nothing is stopping you from going.I don't get what your post means?
Did you listen to the posted interview with Don Jr? I would say we are lucky to have him on our side rather than someone that doesn't have a clue/care for what we live for.

I don't know all the facts I don't blame them for going on hunts like that either? I wish I could afford that. I was merely stating that I understand why any "little guy" would wonder how much public lands in the u.s. mean to someone who can afford to hunt anything anywhere and anytime. I'm not bashing on trump jr or Hairston. I'm merely hoping that they use the platform they've been blessed with to adovoctate on our behalf.

Great post IE, sometimes we're our own worst enemy.
Many of us don't condone every tweet that gets thrown out there, but overall we as hunters, outdoorsmen and women, and gun owners have much to be thankful for in 2018!!
Kudos to the Trump sons, J. Hairston and C. Hanes for being good advocates of our passion!!

Exactly - lets take the OP post and be glad.
Even if they don't speak the otc dyi language- it's still a good thing.

Even if we never see Don Jr or Don SR on a sheep hunt, packing a Kifaru Crater, while wearing crispi boots, sleeping in a SO Cimmaron, a WM 10 degree bag and an Ex Ped pad, eating Mountain House out of a MSR Reactor, while drinking from a steripen cleaned Nalgene, it is still good news people......
Good News, Good Good news.

while i am happy we have a person with some influence hunting, and even hunting some public land (possibly) I do not think he has anything in common with most of us, has any interest in preserving the type of hunting most of us participate in, or really gives two turds about the general hunting population. my opinion is he would be perfectly happy with the demise of most wildland if he or his cohorts made a profit from it. he can always fly and pay ridiculous sums of money to hunt to someplace where we will never have that option. Hopefully I am wrong.

Well, the current options are much better then whoever Hillary would have placed into this roll.

Really, you think her choice would be pro hunting? Yeah probably more pro no land transfer but how’s hunting cougars in CA, cause the people that made that choice are the kind she would have placed into the roll.

The voice of hunters (kind of the basis for this thread) wouldn’t even be heard under a Hillary ran interior dept but the anti’s would.

well hillary had nothing to do with the cougar issue in california...our voters did that on their own and I am ABSOLUTLY a no land transfer, protect public land, protect our natural environment rather that rape it type.... I take pride in that. As a hunter i really take pride in it. Not sure how anyone who loves wild land would not be.

No she didn’t but their type are what she would have given these rolls to.

I’m pro public land but I’m also pro let me understand how we can use them to benefit our country without selling them or turning them into a waste land.

Amen to that. Just 'cause someone is well off does not make them an ass...open your minds a bit. I have heard a few interiews with Don Jr. and I know people that have personally met with him and shot with him and what I have heard sounds good. He's human just like the rest of us. Good grief, some of you guys, give him a little slack.

Can't wait for the division of California to take place. Then we can sell that coastal "51st" state to the Russians(Hillary can be the RE agent). Keep what's good. That oughta fix em'. Just because guys like DJTJ ain't out there spewing actions, does not mean he isn't taking any. Besides, I'm perfectly fine waiting until he is the 46th.

That is as safe a bet as the future of King Coal-going, going...

It is so sickening to read all the jealousy on this forum. Heaven forbid Jason and Don jr have more money than most of us, if not all of us. Do I expect them to DIY public land on every hunt? No, that would be absurd. If I had their money, I sure as hell would not hunt some of the public land I hunt right now. We have a positive voice for the hunting community, yet people still want to hate on them because they do not align their public land views exactly with theirs. It is not like they are trying to make all land private. Just be happy we have a few guys with money and influence that will give hunting a positive spin. There are far to many politicians that want to make hunters out to be vial human beings. Lets embrace and support guys of influence who help promote hunting instead of always looking for the negative in anything they do.

I'm not the least bit jealous of those two. And I think Hairston and DJTJ give hunting a much more negative spin then positive to non-hunters, which by the way will be the ones to decide the future of hunting. Any loss of public lands (including the degradation of quality habitat) or access to said lands will not effect either of these dudes.

And guys, we know HRC lost, big freaking deal. That horse has been beaten to death. So instead of "At least it's not Hillary", show me how the current administration has been good for hunting, specifically public lands/hunting.

Your opinion is based on a lot of ASSumptions.

First tell us one thing Don Jr and Jason have done to reduce hunting access and how they portray it in a negative way? Last I checked neither are in this position to make legislation or determinations on this. Not sure what they have done to make hunting look bad in your opinion.

Not sure how they give hunting a 'negative spin'. Going on a guided hunt is not negative, it's just a guided hunt. Most sheep hunts outside of the lower 48 require a guide, if you are a non resident. Are you sure you aren't letting your dislike of Trump shape your opinion of them as hunters?

Trump admin to expand hunting access on public lands - CNNPolitics

Proposed new Nevada wilderness could be Trump-era first

These are the quick few I could think of. There were also some other wildernesses that were expanded here in Oregon under his administration

Don't want to get too far off topic, but point taken, I guess. I don't see a profound difference in hunting at this point. Why would I expect otherwise from a man who is wants us to enjoy those things we embrace as sportsmen/women and legal gun owners?
We know that cougars and other CA issues are state related.
I do know that Hillary et al, sports a literal army of peta-esque woman who L O A T H E anyone that dares kill an animal of any kind.
These are rabid anti's that couldn't give a sh*t about us or our hunting families, but they freak out if a deer or bunny is bow-killed or shot. Pure, unadulterated H A T E. These are the people, mostly women, that militantly embraced her.

By simple (DJT) default we continue to enjoy outdoors freedoms and rights as Americans. That's huge in my book!

I continue to be amazed how guys juxtapose hunting and gun-related freedoms with their support of quasi-Socialists and Progressives that WILL UNDO THOSE FREEDOMS IF THEY GET THE CHANCE.

Boggles my simple mind.

I was hunting a private ranch in Chama in 2009, and Don Jr and Ivanka hunted there two weeks before me. The guide said Ivanka was really into it, and was an excellent hunter. Both got their Bulls.
