Our winters may suck but with patience we are rewarded with the occasional epic spring day.

Dusted off the drifter yesterday for a short nine mile float........

Always nice to start the day at the put in with one of theses...

Gotta love it when the day is as hot as the fishing so you have to lose the waders....

Just an epic day with great friends in great weather with great fishing on my favorite river on the planet. Lots to bitch about in Wa, including fish politics, but nothing to bitch about yesterday that’s for sure. Not a spot in N. America I’d have rather spent yesterday!!!

Enjoy

No sight fishing here. This river, well all of our rivers for that matter, are too deep and fast for that. We mainly pull them out of logjams with either spoons or pink worms. A great rower is key as most holes you only get one cast at these spots as you zoom by. The fishy path downriver is much different than the safest path downriver.

Yea. First time it’s been open in April in nine years. That was a long nine years.

Nice! Yea I don't live out there any more, but used to fish the Skagit all the time... glad to see they opened it, used to kill me seeing such nice river that was closed this time of year.
