Im running Toyo Open Country AT2 on my Dodge Ram and have been very happy with them.

IME,
the 2 best tires I've had on trucks are the Toyo MT's and the BFG All Terrain TA's.

The Toyos are one of the beefiest tires you will find....the last set I had on my Tundra went 72,000. I had the BFG's on 3/4 ton trucks and best I got for mileage was 40,000.

The Toyos have a little whine to them....not as much as you would think. The Netto grapplers are much worse.

Puncture wise, the Toyo is king. I recently was on a section of road where I passed almost 20 cars pulled off to the side- all with flats. I stopped on the last car to see if I could help but the gal had already called AAA. Someone had dropped a box of screws on the road. I checked my Toyos when I got home and 3 screws in the tread........didn't even phase them.

I've always used Michelin but my local shop suggested Cooper AT 3s so I put on a set last month.

Quite a lot cheaper than Michelin........ride is great.....balanced easily....good traction tread.....and QUIET.

Big fan of Toyos here. I've had 5 sets on my f350. I prefer the mt's, super quiet for such an aggressive tire. My mt's last about the same as the ATlI's I tried.

Ditto. The Open Country AT Xtremes come with the 50,000 warranty. They are bulletproof. Drove through a highway covered in broken glass from a beer truck and they just crushed. They are heavy and expensive.

Worked for a tire place for a bit. If you are worried about tread life get the Toyos over the BFG.

What brand bumper is that? I recall you had a guy work it over quite a bit.

I had a set of the Falken Wildpeak's on my old truck. I thought they were much better than the BFG KO's I had on them before. The wildpeaks will be going on my new truck.

I have the 33" Cooper St MAXX on my Toyota Tundra. They last forever and have great traction but they do have a humm on the blacktop.

Just under 60,000 on these 35x12.5R18, Toyo Open Country M/T's, running on a 1 ton Ram diesel. This is the first set of Toyo's I've ever had and I'm absolutely sold. Around 15,000 of those miles are towing a 21' jet boat and hauling a large cab over camper that weighs over 3,000 lbs. wet. The tires are just about shot, but I think I can get one more summer out of them. They were not cheap, but worth every penny IMO.

The Coopers work great. On my truck I’ve run Nitto Trail Grapplers and BFG ATs. I run Mickey Thompson MTs on my dedicated off road Jeep. The Coopers have been he best in my experience for the all around characteristics you are looking for.

I run a 1 ton diesel so rear tires get shaved down pretty quick if it's too soft a tread.
I need as many plys on side wall as possible for the mountain shale I cross.

I have been a long time BFG, but these coopers at 70,000 is ridiculous. That's twice the miles I get out of any tires I have tried.

I have the same truck, but a 2012. I drive from Florida each season out to Wyoming around laramie peak and up to Gillett as well. I'm on second set of Toyo AT2's. They are great on the highway and have good out west as well, no complaints. I went one size bigger 285 60r 20 and gained about an inch over stock.

Tread life is a secondary concern. Performance off road is what is important. There are a lot of tires that will get you "there" on the highway, then fail for the rest of the way. Tires and boots aren't places to save money. mtmuley

I put BFG ALL TERRAIN KO's on every 4x vehicle I own. Even my wife's Yukon has then. They are a great tire in all conditions.

I agree, but I have a farm truck I use mostly for getting up and down the mountain to hunt. When I head out of State (1 trip a year) I want to have a decent off road ply as well, but good road wear is more important for me at this point.

My old truck has new tires already so It will have to wear them out before I change them, and they are a good off road set up, not so much on high way lol, buts my mountain truck.

Why an f150 with 20s? That's a pavement princess. I had a 2010 that was a complete pile of shit that sucked off road.

At a minimum put smaller rims on it that actually have some side wall, or just get a real off road capable truck like a tacoma..

I do like the stt Maxx tires.
