Sangre De Cristo Wilderness places

Stationed in the Springs at Fort Carson and family is coming to visit in July.... looking to take them to some really amazing places in the Sangres Wilderness.... would love any recommendations....... they are good with up to about 5 mile pack in

Lower and Upper Sand Lake is a mellowish hike in and pretty good fishing when you get there. Super beautiful area. Climb Tierjas peak while there. There is a ramp in what looks like a shear rock face behind the lower lake.

Take the music pass road to get to the trailhead.

Willow Lake-I think the hike is just over 5, but it is beautiful up there.

Lakes of the Clouds near Westcliffe is beautiful. Fairly tough almost 6 mile hike in from the trailhead but doable...

I think there are also some cool options off of Music Pass.

Music pass and the lakes are beautiful. Make sure you have a good 4 wheel drive vehicle with good clearance to save yourself an extra 2 miles of hiking.

I may be in the area this summer with the kids. Any good activities in the area for kids 7, 4 yo.
