I watched this documentary Saturday night on the Sportsmans Channel. Really, really good story. I'd never heard of Joe Brooks before watching this. Anyone who's ever fly fished should definitely watch this show. But even if you've never picked up a fly rod in your life it's still a great story. Here is a trailer:

Cool monument to him on the bank at Big Hunting Creek here in Maryland. I've read most of his books. The link below is a neat story written by of all places Sports Illustrated. I remember reading this as I graduated High School. One of the reasons I spent the following summer and many others fishing Yellowstone.

Thanks for sharing this. I just bought one of his books - Complete Guide to Fishing Across North America. The version I have was written in 1971 and it's funny to see some of the fishing license costs back then. A Montana non-resident fishing license was $10.00 and now it is $111.00 for all the stamps and passes and annual license.
