Going for a longshot here but I am looking for a synthetic stock for a Rem 788 in 7mm-08. I know Ram-line makes one but not in stock anywhere. Looking to upgrade this one.

My first varmint rifle was a 22-250 788 Killed a bunch of ground hogs with that gun. Bought new for around 80 bucks in late 1960s just a few years after introduced for 78.80. The one pictured looks similar to the 308 short barrel they made and also owned. Sold it to a pal in fl who had it rebarreled to 243 ai and killed a bunch pf prairie dogs with. Someone made an aftermarket trigger for it too

Wow 78 bucks! These carbines are now going for up to a grand on gunbroker. They are very accurate rifles for the original cost. They are heavy though and I would like to lighten it up.

I don't know if you are married to the synthetic stock idea, but you might want to take a look at a Boyd's stock; might add some unwanted weight but they do make them for the 788. I've been seriously debating doing that myself.

Yea they do make a nice stock, bought one for a Savage Axis I used to have. They do add weight though. I'm looking to lighten it up so that probably wont work for me.
