I got my gun back from the smith a couple of weeks ago. I finally found a load worth writing about. Im shooting 143 ELD-x's with Retumbo, Im getting sub 1/2 MOA groups at 3220 fps. Its built on a Howa 1500 with a 26"
Shillen and a B&C Weatherby stock. The pic of the group was .581 on a developement load at 3050 fps. I took a pic of the final load at .3 but cant find it. The only thing I would change is the throat, I wish I would have went a little deeper.

Nice load. Did you try any RL26 or RL33 in that? Trying RL26 with some 147 eld in a 6.5-06 in next few days. Its worked great in my 7mm.

That is the first bullet I am going to try when my 6.5-06 improved gets done. Had not picked a powder yet but will look at RL26.

Have the throat lengthened. It's not a big deal to do.

The bullet is a little deep in the case, not much just the boat tail extends beyond the neck. Honestly, any more powder would case issues Im thinking, so Ill be happy with it the way it is.

Ive only tried RL22 and H1000, Retumbo is the best by far.
